What is the Travel Allowance?
Question: How is the travel allowance calculated for shifts?
Answer: Pharmacies typically select one of three travel allowance options:
Full Travel: We calculate the travel allowance based on the distance between your profile address and the pharmacy, including the return trip. This is calculated at a rate of $0.99 per kilometer.
No Travel: The pharmacy does not provide any travel allowance for the shift
Capped Travel: The pharmacy can set a maximum amount they are willing to pay for travel. The calculation will still be based on the distance between the locum's location and the pharmacy.
For instance:
- If a pharmacy sets a maximum travel allowance of $50 and the locum is 15 km from the pharmacy (30 km round trip), the travel allowance would be $29.7
- If the locum is 50 km away from the pharmacy (100 km round trip), the allowance would be capped at $50.00
This structure allows pharmacies to manage travel costs effectively while providing reasonable compensation for locum travel.
